The Jan Kubelík Foundation (the JKF) was founded by his great-grandson René Kubelík in 2015. The main idea is to maintain, propagate and promote the artistic legacy of the violin virtuoso and music composer Jan Kubelík. Obtaining subsidies for the actual realization of activities related to the main idea is a significant activity. Further projects relating to the main idea will be added and updated gradually.

The first important foundation project is the rescue and subsequent reconstruction of Jan Kubelík’s birthplace in Prague – Michle in order to use it as a memorial of the life and artificial legacy of Jan Kubelík; including steady promotion of his artwork.

To support the project and raise sufficient funds for the realisation, art events will be held, especially concerts focusing on popularization of Jan Kubelík’s art.

Explorations that focus on archival files, materials and works including recordings on music media, collecting records of touring and work on the genealogy of the Kubelík family will be made constantly as supporting activities.

The JKF is open to cooperation with individuals and organizations that interested in popularization of Jan Kubelík’s art both in his native Czech Republic and abroad.

A longtime intention of the JKF is to establish and support the Kubelík International Music Academy primarily intended for young and talented artists.
